Bavaria´s Best 50
„Growths is at home in Bavaria“ – with these words the Bavarian Minister for Economy Otto Wiesheu handed over the award „Bayerns Best 50“ (Bavaria´s Best 50) in Munich. The 50 fastest-growing enterprises in Bavaria could report a plus in turnover of 1.4 Billion Euro within 1999 and 2003. At the same time they created around 9 000 new jobs. “That is a great result and it proves that Bavaria is a good place for growth. Businessmen of this type make Bavaria go ahead”, Wiesheu directed his words of appreciation to the award winners.
Most of the award winners do their business in the field of production/consumer goods, followed by service providers. From the technological view most of them are specialized in the field of information- and communication technologies / new media.
It is the third time the Award has been handed out. It is to be understood as an appreciation of entrepreneurial outstanding performances and also is intended as motivation for further enterprises to follow. The main criteria for the Bavaria´s Best 50 Award are higher-than-average turnovers and the number of new jobs created within the company.
